What Happens During the Dental Bridge Procedure?
Dr. Barsa or Dr. Delafuente's team begins by administering a local anesthetic to the area receiving the bridge, then files down the two surrounding teeth to create a smaller foundation for it to rest on. We take impressions used to create both a temporary and a permanent bridge. You'll leave your first appointment with the temporary bridge securely in place, then return shortly after to have it swapped for your permanent one, with small adjustments made along the way so it feels natural. In cases where the surrounding teeth need extra reinforcement first, we may also recommend a dental crown as part of your treatment plan.
