For Dr. George Barsa, the most essential roles he plays in the lives of his patients ensuring that they are free of pain and discomfort and working with them to create a smile that will improve their overall health, increase their self-esteem, and have them feeling confident as they move through the world. He develops a one-on-one relationship with each patient, learning about their dental health goals, and then uses his artistic abilities and technical skills to develop the smile the patient has yearned for.

A native of Damascus, Syria, Dr. Barsa now calls Chicago his home. He enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking, bike riding, reading, and watching movies. Dr. Barsa also loves dining out! He is a choir member and a Sunday School teacher too.

Dr. Barsa knows the importance of continuing education as a dental professional. It is only through keeping up-to-date on advancements in dental techniques, practices, and technologies that he is able to provide the best care for his patients. In addition to attending and participating in conferences, Dr. Barsa has studied dental implant techniques, surgical dentistry, and has taken courses through the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Carla Delafuente

Dr. Carla Delafuente attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where she double majored in Biology and Spanish. She received her Degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. Throughout her dental school career, she volunteered to travel and serve indigent populations in Mexico and Guatemala. Dr. Delafuente also served as president of both the Hispanic Student Dental Association and American Association of Women Dentists. She excelled academically in dental school and served as a tutor and mentor to other dental students.

Dr. Delafuente is currently serving as On the board of the Hispanic Dental Association. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Chicago Dental Society and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Her passion for dentistry and dedication to her patients is evident through her constant search for innovative practice techniques through continuing education courses.

‍

When Dr. Delafuente is not practicing dentistry, she spends most of her time with her husband, and two young daughters. She and her family enjoy exploring the different neighborhoods of Chicago, traveling, cooking, watching movies and spending time with their family and friends. Dr. Delafuente and her husband plan to continue traveling to under served regions of the world and continue helping those in need.

I have always found great pleasure in helping others achieve their goals in life by giving them a beautiful smile. I value the opportunity and the trust my patients are giving me to help them make this life changing experience. I like treating my patients like family and I feel honored they selected me to be their orthodontist. I enjoy treating both children and adults with metal braces, clear braces and Invisalign. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the pleasure I bring to my patients after finishing braces.

Every year I attend many courses and conferences to stay up to date with the latest orthodontic innovations and techniques. As a board certified orthodontist, I feel it’s my duty to be involved in the research and continuing education that allows me to provide the best treatment options available to my patients.
